It is honestly too far away from Brisbane. If the whole family (say 8 peeps) had to take a flight and the flight tickets are heaps cheaper, then it is totally worth it but if it was for only two person to save probably AUD200, I'd say NO THANKS!
Only because you'd have to drive two hours there, park your car in a car park that you'd be paying at least AUD100 for, and then drive another two hours back home. You can also take the Air Asia / Fly Scoots shuttle but, it'd be approx AUD90 for a two way door service.
You'd have to bring empty bottles, queue up for a long time to get enough water for a 2 hour wait at the airport, and for the 8 hour flight journey. Or spend the money you tried saving buying heaps of water? I don't know, to me, I did not enjoy the experience of flying from Gold Coast Airport via Air Asia back to Malaysia. Not especially when I live 10 minutes from Brisbane Airport. Maybe if I didn't, I'd appreciate the service a little more.
